What happens when light shines through a gemstone? All its hidden facets and colors are revealed.
Earlier this year, the Scribes’ friend and fellow author Drew Clapp posted this photo of a fire opal with a mini-devotional on Facebook. He has kindly offered to share those encouraging words with us here.
We were created for a divine purpose and plan. Jeremiah 29:11 says:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” (NIV).
Don’t let anyone or any circumstance tell you otherwise.
Like this fire opal, we are all unique in God’s sight. There will never be another you. God has given us various gifts and talents to use for His glory and to reach the lost. This is part of what makes the Great Commission such a wonderful adventure.
Thank you, Drew, for sharing the beauty of God’s artistry and a glimpse into how He sees each of us, unique jewels in His treasure box.
May God continue to shine through us, revealing the brilliant fire He designed within.

When you look at the fire opal above, what thoughts or inspirations come to mind?
