Lighten Up!

Posted by: Rebecca.

Our family has been in a busy and interesting season. Almost three years ago, my husband and I decided it was time for him to make a career change. The path he chose?

To get his RN degree. This decision meant big changes for us, and a huge challenge for him, he not only needed to continue working almost full-time, he would also be a full-time student.

We’ve learned through the years, and all that comes with them, that you can do anything especially when God calls you to do it. You have to set your mind and heart on your goal, do the work it takes, and keep a good attitude. It’s not always easy and doesn’t always feel good, however, Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” It truly can be, if you make the decision to let it. (Laughter helps a lot too!)

I read a devotional Sunday evening by Joyce Meyer in which she talks about how to let the joy of the Lord be our strength. I encourage you to read it and rediscover what joy is, how you can have it…and then, find something that will make you laugh till tears roll down your face and your tummy hurts!

How will you let God’s joy light your way?
