Scribe’s Playlist: We Are

This week’s theme seems to have become Ephesians 5:13-15, in one translation or other. With that in mind, I invite you to share my headphones for a moment and enjoy…

We Are

Performing Artist: Keri Jobe

Key lines:

Every secret, every shame
Every fear, every pain
Live inside the dark, but that’s not who we are
We are children of the day

So wake up sleeper, lift your head
We were meant for more than this
Fight the shadows, conquer death
Make the most of the time we have left

My Inspiration:¬†Obsession with material success or mindless toil, fear, despair, deception, rage…those are the weapons of the villain of my novel, the weapons of the enemy of our souls. As my protagonist must learn, as we all must, those weapon are mere shadows without form or substance — unless we give them power. As this week’s verse encourages, we must stop wasting time and wake up to fight those shadows with the Light of God. After all, our true work, our mission, is to be His Light to others.
